Puppy school is a positive reward based class for puppies age 12-20 weeks helping to make learning fun for you and your puppy and helping strengthen your bond. It focuses on teaching basic commands, general good manners and life skills useful for pups going onto all walks of life from pets to working dogs.
It runs as a 6 week course and each session is an hour long. There are a maximum of 8 pups per class so you can be sure that you will get great focused training from me and that there isn't so much going on that your puppy can't concentrate.
Puppy school was founded by Gwen Bailey, she's a world renowned dog behaviourist and trainer who revolutionised puppy training using force free positive methods. All puppy school tutors and assistants undergo a rigorous training course with her and a follow up correspondence course.
My classes are held on Friday evenings at Stockton Heath Scout hut.

Adult dog classes
We run a adult dog training class for dogs too old for our puppy school or owners that would like to continue their dogs training. We focus on more complicated obedience than at puppy class, self control exercises which are great for adolescent dogs as they go through their natural hormone surges which can effect their behaviours. We also do more follow on life skills as well.
The course is 6 weeks long with 1 hour class each week. They are held on Friday evenings at Stockton Heath Scout hut. Classes are a maximum of 8 dogs in size to ensure there is plenty of space to work in and also so that you get plenty of individual attention and help where needed.
We use only positive training methods to help increase your bond with your dog and they enjoy learning.
To book on please call, email or fill out the form bellow and I will contact you back to book.
1 to 1 Dog Training
Clicker training is a great way to teach your dog new skills and makes it much easier to let them know when they've done the right thing. Clicker training is fun, easy to learn and very easy to use. It can work with toy or food based rewards and can be used in almost all situations.
Clicker training sessions are usually four 1 to 1 sessions starting with associating the clicker and basic commands and progressing to more complex tricks.
If your dog has a specific issue we can work on a one on one basis to help resolve the problem. Most problem behaviours can't be solved in class situations as they require more focused work and the distractions of a class environment are just too much for most dogs to fully concentrate.
All my training is positive and we use no harsh or punishment based methods, which although they often mask the issue to begin with they usually make the issue worse and can cause permanent damage to your relationship with your dog. We can work on a schedule together which will give you a long term plan for managing your dog's behaviours, and work towards resolving the issue and building a strong and lasting relationship between you and your dog.
